Facebook has long neglected the Pages interface but that all changed today with some big changes. The best way to summarize the changes is that your Facebook page will function more like a user profile does. A couple of the extremely welcomed new features:
- The ability to comment on your page as yourself and not the page.
- Notifications via Email when users comment. (Cool but Hyper-Alerts is still better!)
- A cleaner more familiar user experience.
- A news feed for your home page.
This is the image that greeted me tonight when I logged into my page:
I will be providing a lot more data on this, but this ought to get you started with this new feature.
Hey Joe, (this is my comment from Amplify) Thanks so much for the video. I upgraded the page I admin for work but I didn’t change some of the settings yet which you demo-ed in the video. You made it so easy us to follow along and tweak the configuration. You’re awesome!
Thank you, Joe, as always for a thorough job and great video. I just noticed the new FB page yesterday and seriously wondered….will Joe be covering this for me? 🙂 Glad you did!
BTW, would you ever want to do a guest post for me in my small biz marketing video blog series? Topic that I’m thinking of would be podcasting and using BlogTalkRadio. Let me know if you’re interested!
@Ileane awesome I always appreciate your feedback Ileane, especially considering the quality of videos and tips you produce on your blog. Glad you found it helpful and thanks for your kind words! Enjoy your day, TGIF.
@EricaAllison Awesome, I am so glad that I was able to be on the cutting edge with this one. I literally had my laptop at the dinner table last night to be among the first to post something. I guess the gaming aspects of social media are big drivers, aren’t they? Game on 🙂
I’d be happy to do the guest post on podcasting and using Blogtalkradio. My email is hackmanj on gmail. Or you can use the contact form on my site. I look forward to it 🙂
Thanks for thinking of me!
Joe
@hackmanj Hey Joe! I’m going to share this video on my FB page…I think my clients will like it as well.
I didn’t see anything from Livfyre re: your comment, so I apologize for the 3 day delay!!! I’ll email you later today or tomorrow to set something up. Thanks! Erica
@EricaAllison thanks for passing this along to your Facebook audience. 🙂
